Think Farm-to-Table, But For Flowers
The local flower movement is about celebrating and enjoying the seasonal bounty in flowers, when they’re at their freshest, blooming out loud, and chemical free.
Buying local and US-grown flowers, in season, from florists who live these values, supports farmers, preserves agriculture, and promotes biodiversity. It strengthens the health of our economy and environment.
Picked within days (versus weeks) of landing in your vase, locally grown flowers are fresher, longer lasting, more diverse, and more fragrant.
Lower Your Flower
Footprint
Little known fact: Eighty percent (80%) of flowers in the US are imported. They travel enormous distances to get to your vase, by plane and refrigerated transport. They are sprayed with chemicals, harvested by workers, largely women, barely earning a living wage, and wrapped in single-use, non-recyclable plastic sleeves. These imported stems boast massive carbon footprints which threaten our flower future.
Lowering your flower footprint is one less thing to worry about, so you really can sit back and smell the roses.
